FLUCOME2025 will offer a limited number of conference scholarships.
We are aware that access to conferences is unfortunately financially more straightforward to some than others. We’d like to contribute to a more accessible event by giving presenters the opportunity to apply for the FLUCOME2025 scholarship initiative.
Those who are awarded a FLUCOME2025 Scholarship will receive a fee-waiver and a max. €500,- travel grant to lower financial barriers that might exist to access the conference. We explicitly encourage researchers from the global south to apply, as well as MSc students that are interested in sharing research outcomes with an international community.
Expenses that can be reimbursed through the travel grant:
– Air travel and/or train travel to Delft from location of residence.
– For presenters residing outside of the Netherlands: hotel or bnb reimbursement limited to night before the conference, night(s) of the conference, and night after the conference.
– Costs for VISA application.
Reimbursement Policies and Procedures:
– The FLUCOME2025 Scholarship can be applied by researchers presenting at the conference (oral presentation or poster presentation). In the email of abstract acceptance, details on the application procedure will be shared. Scholarship applications are due 10 July 2025. Notification of granted scholarships is due 20 July 2025.
– Eligibility to the FLUCOME2025 Scholarship is for presenters who would otherwise not have access to the conference. At the stage of scholarship request applicants declare that they have no possibilities to get the conference fee and travel expenses covered by their affiliated institute.
– To receive reimbursement of the travel grant a complete FLUCOME2025 Scholarship reimbursement form must be submitted within 4 weeks after the conference, including attachment of receipts of the eligible expenses. The travel grant reimbursement is capped at a maximum of €500,- per grantee. Reimbursements are processed after the conference. Scholarship payments cannot take place before the conference or onsite at the conference.
When you are a researcher or an institute that is able to cover the fee, please know that a small percentage of your fee will also allow less privileged research voices to diversify the conference.
FLUCOME2025 also welcomes sponsors to contribute to the conference and/or the FLUCOME2025 Scholarship program.
